Another Cloud Sweater: I Love Lang Cloud 11
Remember last week when I said I finished the doily for my stepmom? And that I nailed the measurements? Yeah. Very confident statements from me. I can't even get into it right now—let's talk about Lang Cloud 11.
This really isn't a yarn review—I think being on my third sweater with this expensive yarn is enough of a stamp of approval from me. This is more a colorway appreciation post. I mentioned in my post-Christmas knitting plans post that my original Cloud Sweater in Lang Cloud 14 is easily my most worn sweater, and I've known for a while now that I'd want to make another. And that time has come.
Santa brought me Lang Cloud 11 for Christmas, and like a siren luring a sailor to sea, it has been quietly haunting me from across the room as I finished the doily. Even just sitting there in the skein, it was borderline hypnotizing. I had a feeling this colorway would be prettier in person than the online photos let on, but even that was an understatement—it’s truly mesmerizing in real life.
It's so beautiful I had to look up "blue color therapy" to understand why it was making me feel the way that it was. The Lang Cloud colorways that look the most fun to work with online (Lang Cloud 8, I'm looking at you) actually have a lot of muddy brown spots to work around, since there's so many contrasting colors. This colorway, which looks pretty boring online, has been insanely fun to work with and actually has a ton of visual interest and depth that I didn't expect.
It's all blue, but like, so many blues. There's got to be at least 50 shades of blue. Some almost steel gray, some highly saturated teal, all very beautiful. The kind of colorway that feels endlessly wearable because it's interesting without being loud, and soothing without being boring.
Without further ado, here are some close ups.
