Tablecloth Doily, Still in Progress

Happy New Year! As evident by the title of this post, I didn’t finish the table-sized doily in time for Christmas—and I’m still working on Christmas gifts in January.

What I ended up wrapping for my stepmom was a preview of the tablecloth in the form of a handmade card:

Honestly, I was pretty nervous on Christmas Eve. I kept thinking: what if I’m making this huge tablecloth and she doesn’t even like the design?

But she loved it—so much that she actually teared up and then called me an asshole for making her cry—which was the best possible reaction. It was a huge relief and honestly made me even more excited to keep working on it and finish it the way it deserves.
