The Evolution of My Esther Sweater
I am currently writing this at work, wearing my freshly blocked Esther Sweater for the very first time. To honor the occasion, here's the full progression from swatch to finished sweater:
I genuinely feel so proud of this sweater—maternal even. The second I got this squishy, textured sweater off the needles I felt the need to hug it. Even before blocking, while it was still looking a little crazy and a little small, I appreciated all the counting and eye strain it took to finish this thing.
After blocking it and trying it on, I felt like I could cry. For a moment, it almost didn't register in my brain that I made this. I can't stress this enough: it fits perfectly. I can already tell this is going to be one of my most worn sweaters and it was absolutely worth all the effort.
Also, side note: I'll be taking next Friday off from posting. My friend of over a decade is getting married next weekend and I still need to find a dress!
