Current & Upcoming WIPs
I’m tired, so I figured I’d keep it simple this week and share a couple knitting updates.
Rival Tee Complete
I finally finished my Rival Tee! I was working on this in my vlog a couple weeks ago, and the video ended with me running out of black yarn. Luckily, I ordered another skein from the same Amazon seller and ended up getting the exact same dye lot. From there, I was able to finish the applied sleeve cuffs and neckline, and then I continued knitting the torso until I eventually ran out of white yarn.

Here it is before blocking, next to my most cropped tee shirt that I rarely wear due to how cropped it is:
I soaked it extra long in the hopes that the 79% natural fibers would overpower the 21% of elastic nylon. I ended up getting it a couple extra inches longer and I’m really hoping it doesn’t snap back into place once I remove the pins.

It’s currently still drying, but once I’ve had a chance to wear it I’ll be sharing my full thoughts in a pattern review.
Camisole No. 9 Progress
I started working on my Camisole No. 9 while I was waiting on my other skein of black CoBaSi to come in the mail. This pattern has been a little deceiving. The yoke flew by in a couple days. I thought I was making great time on it… and then I got to knitting the torso in the round. I just thought, “oh, I’ll be here for a while.” And I still am here. Still on my first skein of Cascade Cotton Sox, mind you.
Here are a few progress pictures from along the way:

Upcoming Knits
I’ve been saying for months now that I want to make a black and white Olga Jacket and I finally got the yarn for it. I settled on Cascade Anchor Bay because I want it to be more of an all-season layer. I haven’t knit with a cotton/merino blend before, so I’m excited to see how it works up.
This pattern just looks so fun to knit and I figured it would be a good opportunity to take a break from black and white projects (that no one is forcing me to do and I keep choosing for myself). I went with the recommended yarn, Malabrigo Chunky, in this really stunning periwinkle color. I swatched for it yesterday, and after so much fine-gauge knitting, I’m really excited to work on something chunkier.
Just when I thought I knew what I was doing next, I found this absolutely mesmerizing pattern that I bought immediately. It’s essentially an optical illusion done with shadow knitting. The dots seem to appear and disappear as you move around it. I can already picture wearing it to work and getting compliments all shift long.
If I end up making it, I’ll probably go with Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton (one of the recommended yarns) in black and white… I know, I know. Could I use a different color combination? Sure, but this pattern benefits from high contrast and I just don’t have to worry about if I’m going to wear black and white. Whether I feel like committing to casting on with more black and white yarn might be another story, or this pattern may skip the line and go to the front of my queue. Not sure yet!
